We ate at an Italian restaurant here and my son had this spaghetti dish that was wonderful. I would like to make this for him, but cannot find a recipe. I asked and the restuarant said it is family recipe and would not give it out.

It did not have your typical tomato sauce for spaghetti.

It had oil, garlic, italian sausage, mushrooms, and other spices. It did have egg in it according to the menu, but you couldn’t tell at all. It did not have any egg flavor whatsoever.

I tried a carbonara recipe on allrecipes.com which I thought was similiar, but it was no where near the same. So I don’t think this was a carbonara.

Just wondering if anyone happen to ever hear of this and knows how to make it. Thanks for your help!!

I’m not in the mood to cook and if it were up to me I’d have cereal for dinner–but since I have the kids I need them to have something more substantial than cereal or toast (besides, my kids would be hungry an hour after eating cereal or toast!).

I’m looking for a recipe using boxed rice or boxed mac and cheese and am having the devil of a time finding one. I’ve tried both the rice a roni and kraft websites, as well as Allrecipes.com and can’t find anything. Suggestions on what to make? They don’t like spaghetti with meat sauce (my first choice).

So I’m pretty broke this month and am trying to stay on a healthy diet. I am trying to figure out different ways of preparing a chicken and vegetables dish with the groceries that I already have – since I don’t have the extra money to buy any additional food at this time. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas for recipes?

Here’s what I have to work with:
chicken breasts
vegetable stir fry
onion, garlic, bella mushrooms, bell peppers
brown rice
spaghetti noodles
cheese
flour
milk
stuffing (bread crumbs)
sour cream
butter
mac and cheese
soy sauce
tomato soup
regular sandwhich bread
mayo, mustard
parmesan cheese
small potatoes
saltine crackers
1/2 bottle of red wine
black olives
canned corn
italian seasoning

So far I’ve made a chicken vegatable stir fry with brown rice and soy sauce. And then yesterday I cooked the chicken breast with italian seasoning and garlic, made a vegetable stir fry and made a chicken cheese gravy sauce to pour on top. So, I’m looking for more ideas. :)

I just finished making a couple batches of stir fry, but it tastes like I left out something essential–maybe more than one thing. I followed the recipe for the most part. (A friend gave it to me.) My ingredients were:

1 lb. of chicken breast, chopped
1 bunch of broccoli, chopped
2 stalks of celery, chopped
8 mushrooms, chopped
1 bag of shredded carrots
1 large head of cabbage, shredded
1 large onion, cut into strips
1/2 cup sugar-free orange marmalade
1/3 soy sauce
1 small box of whole wheat, thin spaghetti noodles
1 clove garlic, minced
1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated

It just really tasted like there was something else I should have put in my stir fry. What would you have done differently? Please help!

ate at “curry house” and ordered a dish called kinoko and kaiware – somewhat of a japanese spaghetti with mushrooms, onions, radish sprouts and a soy sauce flavor. and being a person who likes to cook at home as well.. i was wondering if anyone had the recipe. or at least something quite similar to taste. i looked around online.. but nothing.
