I have ground beef, eggs, onion soup mix, milk, cheese, tomato sauce, potatoes, green beans, and of coarse the normal seasonings. I am so tired of homemade soup, burgers, meatloaf, spaghetti, and stuff like that. I need some help. I have a 1 and 3 year old to feed as well as my husband and I. Please any serious ideas with recipe details including cooking temps. Thanks in advance and wish me luck

are picky eaters? I have a 7 yr old that will only eat spaghetti with no sauce and potatoes and gravy, and an almost 3 yr. old that won’t eat dinner at all. I have never catered to pickiness. I make dinner and my children can take it or leave it, within reason… I mean, if they’re sick, obviously I’ll make them something else for dinner which is appropriate. Any great dinner recipes for kids that are sure-fire hits in your house?
I don’t make spaghetti or potatoes and gravy very frequently. I like to have a wide variety of foods, mexican, italian, oriental, oldies but goodies like meatloaf, pot roast, pork chops, southern fried chicken, etc. I just don’t get why they won’t eat, and I’m SO FRUSTRATED!!! the 3 yr old is very very small ( he wears size 18 mos, but is not failure to thrive. His father was the same, and is still small), and I just ACHE when he won’t eat!

This coming week I’m tight on $$. I usually cut all expenses and when it comes to dinner, I try to budget for 2-in-1 meals. It’s just the 2 of us, but my b/f eats for 2. I bought split chix breast at the meat market(89Cts/lb), which is 10cts less than the grocery store. I bought 5 lbs-(using 2-2 1/2lbs for mexican Mole) and the other half for next nights’ fried chix. Pork chops, fried chicken, skirt steak is the usual menu. I love cooking but just wish the “ectras” when it comes to a recipe, didn’t cost so darn much! I used to be stocked when it came to spices and pantry staples, but now I just go day by day. I ran out of spices but only buy whats needed b/c spices are so dang expensive!
I pretty much do my esscential shopping once a week (which happens to be this Sunday).
Here’s an idea of my grocery list(please help differsify it!). Also note: I live in Deep S TX and my b/f is mexican. Almost every meal is served with corn tortillas and hardly any sides…
Pork chops(grilled/fried) with corn tortillas, sliced tomatoes&onions to put in tortillas
*Fried chicken or mole w/loaf of french bread
*Ground beef/seasoned w/mexican spices(onion,cumin,chopped garlic,green bell pepper, cilantro)and diced potato, served w/ corn tortillas
*Grilled chicken fajitas/skirt steak
*make our own subs
*hamburger gravy over mashed potatoes(one of my own few recipes that I’ve incorporated into his eating habits)
*spaghetti w/homemade meatballs and sauce(I’m Italian)
*homemade chicken noodle soup (only on a cold night)
I’m looking for cheap dinner ideas-preferrably those that can carry on into next days’ lunch!

What could add spice or substance to my mushroom pasta?
Filed Under Spaghetti Sauce Recipes | 3 Comments
When I was 14 I was stuck in a high-rise apartment all day to fend for myself, and that’s when I came up with this recipe: mushrooms sauteed in butter, garlic, and soy sauce, thrown in with a spaghetti or penne, and then sprinkled with garlic salt and crushed red pepper.
I love that dish, and I’d like to make it again sometime, but I’m looking to make it a little more interesting and/or substantial.
I’m not a big fan of tomato sauces, and my boyfriend is a little allergic.
I’m thinking a sauce, or meat. Something spicy, salty, or meaty.
Any ideas?

ok so i looked all over the internet to find a good chow mein recipe and none have came up. all they say is add spaghetti noodles and soysauce and stir fry and thats chow mein. I dont think so. If anybody has a GOOD chow mein recipe that tastes close to ones in the restaurants, please list it, thanks.
im mainly looking for the sauce that gives it that chow meiny flavor, and i know its not just soy sauce.
i will pick best answer, thanks!!!!!!!!

I’m going to be making swedish meatballs tonight for my fiance. I found a few recipes online on cooking websites. But I know home recipes are always the best! Can anyone give me instructions on how to make them with spaghetti? What kind of sauce should go on them?
Thank you! My fiance will appreciate it! =)
i meant to say noodles, not spaghetti! Sorry – my boyfriend is 100% italian and anytime we’re talking about food the word spaghetti comes out of his mouth at least 100 times.. i guess i just got used to say it! haha
