Trick to a sweeter tomato-based spaghetti sauce is riper tomatoes. Because most fresh tomatoes are picked green so that they are less damaged during shipping, they aren’t at the peak of their flavor.
Use canned tomatoes and, if you’re in the U.S., make sure they’re from California. The tomatoes are actually picked when at their peak and canned immediately, preserving their sweetness.

1 14 oz can tomato sauce, 2 cans roasted garlic tomato paste, 1 tbls sugar, 2 tsp each: onion powder, bay leaf flakes, parlsey, thyme, basil. Add water to reach desired consistancy (use water from pasta cooking). Can be served just as a red sauce or w/ 1 lb lean ground beef or sausage.
